Baby's got booties

Chic Moms are pooh-poohing the pedestrian cotton sock in favor of luxe angora booties.  Yo My Booties! has upped the ante on infant footwear by offering the equivalent of Manolo Blahniks for tykes.  The booties, made with pure Chilean angora, are becoming the rage among the well-heeled Gerber set.  Marin Hopper (daughter of Dennis, now a mom herself) is a fan, and philanthropist Vanessa Getty snagged some for her brand-new bundle. Designer Kris Pettit conceived Yo My Booties! while publicly knitting booties in anticipation of baby Willa.  Other moms saw the fashion statements in the making and asked for sets of their own. Like Blahnik, Pettit offers a spate of eye-popping colors such as fuschia, pumpkin and sage based on seasonal trends to ensure that the booties match up with mama's duds. - Amy Koch
